VISIT ALPANA
A.L.P.A.N.A. SOCIETY

The mission of the Association for Learning Performing Arts and Normative Action (ALPANA) society in India is the promotion of performing arts and facilitating holistic human development. The Society essays the cause of spreading awareness among today’s youth 
about rich cultural heritage of India. Through various art forms like music and dance and other courses painting, tabla playing etc., the society endeavours to evolve complete individuals proud of their heritage. The emphasis is on our inclusive and composite heritage.

VISIT BLUEROOM

BLUE ROOM


Blue Room is an Inclusive Arts Programme for learning disabled adults based in Liverpool, England. Since 2008, the Blue Room artists have met weekly at the Bluecoat Gallery to explore the exhibitions and create their own artworks. They are supported to develop creative and social skills, build confidence and gain independence. The artists also meet at the Norton Priory Museum and Gardens in nearby Runcorn.

CAD Factory

The Cad Factory is an artist-led organization based in New South Wales, Australia that creates an international program of new, immersive and experimental work guided by authentic exchange, ethical principles, people and place. They embrace opportunities to expand contemporary arts practice by working with diverse sectors such as health, business, education, community and the environment. We work independently and in collaboration to to create new contemporary art and performance.

INDEPEN-DANCE

​Indepen-dance is an award winning inclusive dance company for disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy, express, and fulfil their potential through dance. Their mission is to enable participation in high quality arts provision and improve wellbeing, quality of life and provide opportunities for disabled and non-disabled dancers in both the professional and non-professional dance sectors. Indepen-dance holds weekly creative movement and dance classes throughout the year, where participants become lifelong members and join a thriving social network. They also provide bespoke professional training, career development and employment opportunities.

LUNG HA THEATRE COMPANY​

Lung Ha Theatre Company is the leading theatre company for people with a learning disability in Scotland that started in 1984, with a growing reputation internationally for delivering high quality theatrical performances. It has now become firmly embedded as part of the cultural output of Scotland, and has even been recognised by the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland as co-recipient together with Grid Iron Theatre Company, of the 2009-10 Award in the category of Best Ensemble for the production of Huxley’s Lab.

OILY CART

Oily Cart aims to reimagine theatre for young audiences to make it more inclusive. They create sensory theatre that can be enjoyed by children who are very young and those who are labelled as having complex needs including those with profound and multiple disabilities, with an autistic spectrum condition, and those who are deafblind and multi-sensory impaired. Oily Cart travels across the UK and internationally to present work in venues, schools and hospitals, transforming spaces into colourful, tactile wonderlands. They invite their audience to join in a world of imagination using hydro-therapy pools, trampolines, aromatherapy, video projection, and puppetry, together with a vast array of sensory techniques, altogether creating original and highly specialised theatre for young audiences.

PLAT-FORM

Plat-form is the arts centre at the heart of The Bridge, a community centre in Easterhouse, Glasgow Scotland, offering a year-round programme of cutting edge performance, music, visual arts and participation. Platform views culture and creativity as a bedrock of a healthy and inclusive society. Their work is rooted in their location and engages directly with their audiences. They work with a range of local and national partners to bring together communities and artists.

STAY UP LATE

Stay up Late is a Charity based in Brighton, England, that was set up to ensure person centred planning for people with learning disabilities and autism to truly reflect how they would like to lead their lives. It partners with support workers who can work different hours, especially those who go beyond daytime shifts. A vibrant nightlife may mean good access to shows, performances and other artistic pursuits that do not traditionally happen during work hours, and through this set-up, it brings persons with disabilities a choice to "stay up late" and enjoy such experiences!

PROJECT ABILITY

​Project Ability is a visual arts organisation based in Glasgow, Scotland, with an international reputation for excellence. Since 1984, they have created opportunities for people with disabilities and people with lived experience of mental ill-health, aged 5 years to 80 plus, to express themselves and achieve their artistic potential. Over three hundred people each week take part in their year-round programme of workshops, events and exhibitions which are held in their centre at Trongate 103, and in community venues throughout the city. They work in partnership with people with disabilities and their support agencies across the UK to develop local, national and international arts projects, creating opportunities for people to network, share their practice and exhibit their work.

Project Pond, based in the Philippines, provides intervention for teens and young adults with neurodevelopmental issues in the areas of their academic life, socialization, life direction and spiritual aspect. It wishes to see a world more accepting and empathic towards those diagnosed of various neurodevelopmental conditions, while utilizing their capabilities, enabling them to contribute and seeing themselves in the best that God had made them to be. Project Pond seeks to unleash their God-given best and help them and their families overcome impairments related to neurodevelopmental issues.

VENTURE ARTS

Venture Arts is a progressive visual arts charity based in Manchester, England, with over 30 years of experience. They work alongside learning disabled artists to create exciting new collaborative visual art work using a range of art mediums including illustration, photography, moving image, animation, textiles, printing, ceramics, 3D and paper art and multimedia. Each year they deliver over 1,700 in house visual art sessions and collaborate with various institutions to showcase the works of their diverse artists.

VICO'S ARTISM GALLERY

Vico’s Artism Gallery and Store is a pioneering inclusive arts centre in Pasig City, Philippines that helps diverse individuals build their creative potentials through visual arts. They hold sessions, events and collaborate on projects that bring to the Filipinos’ consciousness promising life paths for learning-disabled artists: that developing their talents can lead to wonderful careers and opportunities. The gallery is founded by diverse ability artist Vico Cham and his family, who have anchored the practice of arts and disability in the Philippines.
