Young Artists from Headway School for Giftedness in the Philippines
These six amazing children embarked on creative journaling sessions in year 2020 by expressing their thoughts and feelings on various things that surround their “new normal”. Recognized as gifted and talented individuals/fast learners, Chez, Carlos, Timmy, Kirk, Sofia and Agatha met online at twice a week to share with each other their gift of creativity. Themes ranged from their views about the world, their future, the Covid-19 Pandemic, things that make them happy, previous travels – and even making their own virtual storybooks – that became a wonderful opportunity as well to interact and socialize.
Headway School for Giftedness (HSG) in Quezon City Philippines is known as a pioneering Filipino school for creative, intellectually advanced and twice exceptional learners. It made the creative journaling program a component of their Talent Development Program. Since the pandemic, HSG has successfully transitioned into virtual mode, having facilitated home blended learning since more than a decade ago.
